General Rules of Agreement

These Rules apply to all The Village forums

1) No information taken from our website including emails, photos, graphics and information shall be used for commercial gain.

2) Any and all information including emails and forum content shall not be used in a way that will be harmful to villageplace.com members.

3) The Village administration has the right to remove or delete a users account or posts at its discretion.

4) The Village is not responsible or held accountable for any view or opinions of members.

5) All users agree not to impersonate another or to unlawfully use a members username or password.

6) User names designed to disguise your internet identity will not be tolerated. IP addresses are always subject to the possibility of being crossreferenced. If the administration has reason to believe that a new member is actually an old member they will reveal this suspicion to the members in the Boxing Ring. User names that malign another user will not be tolerated. Fake usernames registered to cause trouble will not be tolerated and will be deleted.

7) No Posting of personal information without permission. This includes email, address, name, job info, etc. Address would mean the street number and name, but not really the location as members talk about their state/city/province/country. Also some members put their location down for others to see.

8) Members are expected to be civil when posting. Insulting of children will not be tolerated.

Terms of Use for the Round Table and The Boxing Ring

There is light moderation on the Round Table (our debate board) and no moderation on the Boxing Ring. The same rules for the general boards apply here as well, with the following modifications.

1) If someone is directly insulted it is up to that person to state that they have a problem with the post or are insulted. That person may ask for the thread to be moved to the Boxing Ring (which is a private forum for members of a certain number of posts to have access to). Once it is in the Boxing Ring it is off the public boards and can continue on there or be ignored. This rule is not to be abused and it must be very clear that the person who is requesting the thread be moved be the one who is insulted. If it's a vague statement like "some people who spank their kids are idiots" and a person who spanks wishes it moved this is not considered a direct insult to that person. A specific name must be named such as "bob spanks and is an idiot". Bob would be able to request the move of the thread to which he can choose to ignore it once it's in the BR or he can continue to post to it in that forum. The request for the thread to be moved will be put on the thread itself. An email can also be sent to admin@villageplace.com or a pm to a moderator or admin to make sure the request on the thread is noted.

2) Access to the Boxing Ring will be granted to users that are regular posting members of the rest of our community. This number is currently 50 posts. However, if the person is discovered to have been posting just to up their number to get to the Boxing Ring, access will be denied until it is established that that poster is a contributing member of the community. The Boxing Ring is a place for our members to hash out their differences, not an entertainment forum. To request access, send an email to access@villageplace.com

Privacy Statement for the Private Forums

Private forums are just that, private. So all information or posts on those private forums are to be kept private. People have the right to post private information on the private forums and not to find it out in the open on the public boards.

1) No information may be taken off the private boards and onto the public ones without permission from the original poster.

2) No discussions, references or mention of information on the private forums is to be displayed on the public forums without permission from the original poster.

3) The Village administration has the right to issue warnings and bannings to those who do not follow the privacy statement of the private boards.

4) The Village mods and administration reserve the right to edit or remove posts that refer to private forum content on the public boards.

Email access@villageplace.com for access to the private forums.

Breaking the Rules and The Guidelines

1) All fakes and usernames that are innapropriate will be deleted immediatly. The IP will be traced by the administration and if it is found to be a current member that member will be banned.

2) If personal info is said on the boards it will be edited by the first moderator or admin to see it. A warning will be then sent to the person responsible via pm and/or email. That warning will be in place for 3 months. If this rule is broken again by the same person they will be banned. If after 3 months they have not had a second infraction, the slate is wiped clean.

3) Harrassing a member or "trolling" will also result in a warning or banning. The Administration will use it's discretion depending on the situation and severity of the warning.
